This site is always under development, some things work, some things don't, just like me.

This web site is is inteded to show examples of my work to people who have expressed an interest in what I'm doing. I also try to anwser some of the questions people ask me at shows. I've put in an artist's statement, because craft shows sometimes ask for one. You can read it if you want, but you can get a better idea of what I'm doing by just looking through the galleries.
I am currently (early 2008) in the process of moving my shop from Washington, DC to a very rural part of West Virginia (I will still live in Washington, but my shop will be in West Virginia). This is taking more time that I imagined and I won't be doing many shows this year until my new shop is complete. My new shop will be in an old, two story chicken barn built around 1930 - we know because much of the barn is built of wormy chestnut which was cut down around that time because of a blight introduced from Europe - that is why you don't see many pieces made from chestnut anymore. Fixing the barn has been a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. We had to jack the barn up, replace the sills, and put in a concrete floor on the first floor and new flooring on the second floor. It will also be insulated and have a wood stove. Here are some pictures. The great part is that it has lots of windows (my current shop doesn't have any) and I will have a view of a stream and horses grazing in a meadow. I will also be working much more with local woods rather than the exotics I have used in the past. If you know where the Dolly Sods is, then you will know where Jordan Run Road is, and that is where I will be.
